Do Not Call Registry | du™

This is in reference to the recent TDRA issued Regulatory Policy – Spam Calls v1.0 on 4 April 2021 (Policy). The Policy sets certain obligations with regard to telemarketing calls made by EITC and its business customers, including Business Mobile and Fixed services (Telemarketers). These obligations have been detailed in EITC’s General Terms and Conditions communicated to all Telemarketers in December 2021. One of these obligations is that Telemarketers must not initiate or cause telemarketing calls to be initiated to any Consumer, via a telephone number or other electronic address listed in the Do Not Call Registry, unless the Telemarketer initiating the call has the prior consent of the concerned Consumer to do so. Telemarketers who breach their obligations as set out in clause 7.7 may have their telecommunications services interrupted, in accordance with Clause 7.7.5 of EITC’s General Terms and Conditions.

EITC has now developed the Do Not Call Registry (“DNCR”) Portal, a database containing the mobile numbers of all the Consumers who do not wish to receive telemarketing calls. Telemarketers will now be required to consult the DNCR before making any telemarketing calls in case you did not obtain an explicit prior consent from your customers to do so.

In order to start using the DNCR Portal, Telemarketers will have to login to du “My Account” portal using their du corporate account. Once they are logged in, they will be required to upload the list of mobile numbers for which they wish to validate their DNCR status. In order to initiate the telemarketing calls, once a file is uploaded and processed, they will be able to download the results file showing the DNCR status against each mobile number from the portal. Kindly refer to the attached handbook for overview on how to use the DNCR Portal.
