Dubai, UAE: HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, has honoured du with an award recognizing the telecommunications company’s continuous support of Maraya Art Centre.

The award was received by Ahmed Aburahima, Vice President – Government Relations, Human Resources and Shared Services, du, during the launch of the ‘Maraya Art Night’ exhibition on 11 March, at Maraya Art Centre, Al Qasba, Sharjah.

Present at the event were HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation; HE Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq); HE Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of (Shurooq), and Hisham Al Madhloum, Head of Art Directorate at the Department of Culture and Information in Sharjah.

Supporting the arts in the UAE is of great importance to us as we aim to encourage sustainability through the community. The people of the UAE have great creative promise, and as a responsible company we feel it is our duty to nurture their artistic growth in what ways we can,” said Aburahima.

du has supported Maraya Art Centre from 2010 to 2012, to help nurture creativity and promote awareness of art and culture in the UAE, while encouraging young talent to explore artistic innovation.
