Hussain Al Jasmi announced as the ambassador of the initiative
Dubai, UAE, 07 July 2013: du has launched ‘Every Step Counts’, a national wellness campaign to answer His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai’s call to adopt positive energy . His Highness, stated in his recent book “Flashes of Thought” that the most valuable asset a country has is its people and health is what gives time its meaning and life its taste. This inspiration message provided the impetus for du to initiate and launch its Every Step Counts wellness initiative.
For a sustainable future, corporate wellness must be considered a must by every company. Du believes in sustainable development, and as such states that its responsibility is to participate in helping the community achieve its development objectives, including promoting better health for all.
With Every Step Counts, du is standing up for the wellbeing of the UAE’s nation, and has enlisted music sensation Hussain Al Jasmi, goodwill ambassador for the United Nations' Intergovernmental Institution for the Use of Micro-Algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition (IIMSAM), as an ambassador for the initiative.
Present at the launch of Every Step Counts was Osman Sultan, CEO, du; Hussain Al Jasmi, and senior representatives from du.

Al Jasmi added: “I’m thrilled to be joining with du for the Every Step Counts campaign. It’s an honour to have been selected as the campaign ambassador, as it will help me to inspire the people of the UAE’s community to embark upon a journey to a future full of health and positive energy, starting with just a single step.”
Ramadan initiatives under Every Step Counts will include charitable walkathons lead and endorsed by a group of officials and dignitaries from the UAE, more details about the walkathons will be announced later.

Objectives of Every Step Counts campaign for the next two years:

2. Creating a healthy society full of positive energy, and a national culture among all sectors of society to adopt a healthier lifestyle by introducing an online community platform
3. Creating indicators and positive practices for individuals and institutions, and rewarding those who have contributed in driving positive change through an endorsement kit.
