du’s employees enjoyed double the delight across the company’s offices, as they celebrated Dubai’s winning Expo 2020 bid in the spirit of the UAE’s 42nd National Day! Fun-filled activities were held across all of the company’s UAE premises in Dubai Media City, Dubai Academic City, Lotus Plaza, and Fujairah.

Across the buildings, du’s employees decorated their workspaces to represent the various eras of the UAE’s history, from the formation of the nation in the 70s and going forward into their prediction for the future. The occasion was marked with performances and more, with employees getting into true National Day spirit. Al Salam Tower’s building’s 41st floor decorations were themed around Expo 2020, in celebration of the recently-announced win and the positive things it means for the UAE.

Hala Badri, Executive Vice President, Brand and Communications, du, said, “We offer our warmest congratulations to the UAE leadership and people, on the occasion of Dubai winning Expo 2020. This is a momentous occasion for all of us, as Emiratis and residents, and is especially auspicious given the timing of the win – just before National Day! This gives us double the reason to celebrate, and our colleagues have really outdone themselves with this year’s celebrations – they’ve demonstrated their true love for our country in the most spectacular ways. The UAE’s 42nd National Day has brought us all together in our respect, passion and pride for our nation, and we would like to share this spirit with the UAE’s community.”

In du’s Fujairah Call Centre, employees celebrated with participation from Ibn Al Nafees Elementary School, Al Ghorfa Kindergarten, and Emirati poet Faisal Al Mouh. du’s Dubai Academic City employees held a competition with the different decorated floors marking a different time-period in the UAE’s history.

At du’s head office in Al Salam Tower, Dubai Media City, employees were joined by Rashid Al Kharji, also known as Bu Omar, presenter of ‘Bath Al Mubasher’ on Noor Dubai. Bu Omar judged each decorated floor in du’s offices based on creativity, the education angle employed in decorating and performances, and the accuracy in terms of the items used in relation to each period portrayed and the number of participants in each team.

Both Dubai Academy City and Fujairah Call Centre will post pictures of their floors so colleagues can vote online to determine two winners, to be announced later .

Rashid Al Kharji said, “The strong display of national pride and patriotism at du is very heart warming, especially in light of Dubai’s winning Expo 2020 bid. This is a fitting tribute to our nation’s success, its heritage and future, and it is encouraging as an Emirati to see such love for our nation from so many nationalities. I am proud to have been asked to join in with these festivities in celebration of the UAE’s 42nd National Day.”
