Daily Iftar with du: du will be organising Mawaid Al Rahman (Iftar/Suhoor) in eight locations across the UAE. Air conditioned tents will be set up at various locations across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Umm Al Qwain, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman. The tents will provide free Iftar meals daily within an authentic Ramadan experience, for customers and the wider community. All tents will be open to the public who can simply walk into the air-conditioned tent and enjoy a meal from du which will be neatly and conveniently packed in a box. The public also has the option of take-away meals for added convenience.
Ramadan SMS Challenge
du customers can test their knowledge of Ramadan, the Arabic language and UAE culture, by participating in the Ramadan SMS Challenge. Intended to create a bond between members of the society by encouraging them to consult with each other for the right answers, the challenge also has weekly and grand prizes to be won, apart from free credits for every correct answer. du customers simply have to send ‘quiz’ to 1000 to play the Ramadan SMS challenge in English and لغز to 1000 to play it in Arabic.
The rewards: For every correct answer, the customer gets 10 fils of FREE credit. The top weekly winner gets FREE credit of AED 5500 and the next top 55 participants every week get FREE credit of AED 550 each. There is also an attractive Grand prize for the overall Top Winner.
Mobile Content:
For the first time in the region, du in an exclusive partnership with MBC, will offer mobisodes (“mobile episodes”) of MBC’s Pocket Series ‘Rabeh wa Douktora’ to all du customers with 3G enabled mobile phones. These mobisodes are not available on TV and have been developed exclusively and only for du’s mobile audience in the UAE. The ‘Rabeh wa Douktora’ series will be offered as part of the Specials category (Pay per view) on du mobile TV. Standard charges would apply.
In addition to this, du customers can continue to enjoy seasons 1 and 2 of the popular animated cartoon series Freej on du mobile TV.
du has also partnered exclusively with the leading Islamic TV Channel ‘Al Majd’ and will offer the channel as part of its mobile TV offering. Al Majd will be available to customers as a 1 channel subscription or as part of the all channel subscription package on mobile TV. Al Majd will also offer all its mobile-tailored Islamic content, exclusively to du’s customers through du’s MyWorld mobile portal and Caller Tunes services.
Special Edition Ramadan Recharge Card: du has on offer FREE Mobile content in the form of Special Edition Ramadan Recharge Cards that will be available in the market during the whole month of Ramadan.
To request for the free Ramadan content, customers just SMS the code associated with the content to 1001, which is a toll free number.
While there will be no SMS charges for requesting or downloading mobile content in the UAE, regular roaming charges apply if the customer is outside the UAE. Availability of content is subject to handset compatibility.
Free SMS – Hadeeth of the Day:
du customers can also subscribe to free ‘Hadeeth of the Day’ during Ramadan by sending حديث (for receiving Hadeeth in Arabic) or HADEETH (for receiving Hadeeth in English) to 9500. Customers will receive one Hadeeth per day during Ramadan.
