Commenting about these unique shows, and in particular the importance of Hip-Hop music and culture in the Middle East, Shatha Al Romaithi, a FLASH Entertainment spokesperson said:

“These are yet again two big concerts for Abu Dhabi. Shakira is returning to the Capital but this time with a fantastic new world tour show. Having the ‘Doggfather’ himself Snoop Dog perform reflects the huge popularity of Hip-Hop, R&B and Urban Music in the UAE, especially amongst young Arabs”.

With the likes of rising Emirati Hip-Hop star Khalifa Al Romaithi setting his experiences to Hip-Hop, the genre’s positive messages of independence and confidence, give young Arabs the chance to bring Arabic Art, poetry and traditions to a wider audience. Importantly, it allows for a positive intertwining of cultures and influences between Middle Eastern and Western Music providing young people with important channels of expression.

Shatha Al Romaithi continued, “Hip-Hop’s increasing popularity in the Arab world is giving rise to an exciting form of creativity and expression, and affording young Arabic rap artists the opportunity to deliver positive messages about their culture, heritage and values via an artistic platform”.
