  2. How can I activate a data bundle?

  3. How will I know the data bundle has been activated?

    You will receive a confirmation SMS once you activate your data bundle.

  4. Can I use the data bundle while I am out of the country?

    No, these data bundles can be only used within the UAE.

  5. How can I check my remaining data balance?

    To check your data balance anytime, SMS Balance to 1355.

  6. What happens if I don’t finish my data bundle allowance within the validity?

    Any leftover data will be lost once the validity is expired.

  7. Will my data bundles renew automatically?

    If you have activated one of the recurrent data bundles, your bundle will be renewed automatically every 30 days.

    If you have activated a one-off data bundle, your bundle will not be renewed automatically.

  8. What will happen if I run out of data bundle allowance before the data bundle expiry date?

    Bundles are protected with Data Credit Protection, thus when you run out of data allowance before the bundle expiry date, you will not be able to browse the internet.

    1) For Recurrent Data Bundles: We will activate the Data Credit Protection feature automatically once you purchase the data bundle; so if you run out of data allowance before the bundle expiry date, you will not be able to browse the internet. Pay per use standard rate of AED 1.05/MB (Inclusive of 5% VAT) will apply if the bundle renewal keeps failing.

    2) For One-Off Data Bundles: We will activate the Data Credit Protection feature during the data bundle validity period; once it expires, your data usage will be automatically charged AED 1.05/MB (Inclusive of 5% VAT) until you buy a new data bundle.

    Important Notes:

    a) To use data at AED 1.05/MB (Inclusive of 5% VAT), dial *135*11#

    b) To buy another data bundle, dial *135#5# and choose your bundle

  9. What happens if I want to upgrade, downgrade, or terminate my recurrent data bundle?

    Upgrade/Downgrade: The benefits of the old bundle will remain until the expiry and the renewal will be done on the new data bundle. Termination: You will continue to enjoy the remaining benefits from the data bundle until the expiry and then standard rate of AED 1.05/MB (Inclusive of 5% VAT) will be applicable on your data usage.

  10. What will happen if I purchase another data bundle before I finish my current data bundle allowance?

    If you activate a recurrent data bundle on top of another recurrent data bundle (upgrade/downgrade), then the benefits of the old bundle will remain until the expiry and the renewal will be done on the new data bundle.

    If you activate a one-off bundle on top of a recurrent data bundle or on top of another one-off data bundle, then every bundle will have its own expiry. The usage will be deducted from the data bundle with the nearest expiry first.

Recharge with data FAQs:
  1. Can I recharge with data directly?

    Yes, you can:

    • Dial *131*RechargeNumber# and press the call key

    • Dial *135# then follow the instructions

    • Recharge online without the need to log-in, simply visit du.ae/QR

    • Call IVR 135 from the line to be recharged, choose option 1, 3 and then 4

    • Recharge through our du app or My Account

  2. How will I know I received the data allowance?

    You will receive a confirmation SMS once you recharge with data option.

  3. If I recharge with data, can I make calls or send SMSs?

    No, when you recharge with data option you get only data balance.

  4. I made a recharge with data by mistake, can I reverse the recharge into regular credit?

    No, but you can make another recharge with regular credit.

  5. What happens if I recharge with data more than once?

    Each data recharge will have its own validity period and the bundles will expire after their validity.

  6. Can I use the data allowance while I am out of the country?

    No, this data allowance can be only used within the UAE.

  7. How can I check my remaining data balance?

    To check your data balance anytime, SMS Balance to 1355.

  8. Can I transfer/share my data allowance with my friend?

    No, data allowance cannot be transferred.

  9. What happens if I don’t finish my data allowance within the validity?

    Any leftover data will be lost once the validity is expired.

  10. Will this data renew automatically?

    No, it will not be renewed automatically. You have to make another recharge to top-up your data balance.

The purchase of the Extra Data Offer (the Offer) is subject to these Terms and Conditions. du reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or to withdraw the Offer. du will publish these Terms and Conditions, and any revisions to them, on its website www.du.ae (du Website).

Eligible Customers

The Offer is available to the following customers:

a) Any new or existing customers of du’s Smart, 150, 300, 600 and 1000 plans.
b) Any new or existing customers of du’s Emirati 100, 300, 600 and 1000 plans (together with the Smart tariffs listed in a Plan).

Other Offers

Customers subscribing to the Offer may not be permitted to purchase other offers or add-ons with the same Plan, including the following: 

a) Smartphone Privilege Plan
b) 10GB Extra Data 
c) Premium Bundle

Minimum Term

To benefit from the Offer, Customers must sign up to a Plan for a minimum of 12 months or 24 months, depending on the Plan chosen (Minimum Term). The Plan will expire upon completion of the relevant Minimum Term. Upon expiry of the relevant Minimum Term, Customers will be given the option to renew their Plan in accordance with paragraph 7 below.

Upgrades

Customers who have already subscribed to the Offer may upgrade to an equal or higher value Plan at any time provided they are not in breach of the terms and conditions associated with their existing Plan, including these Terms and Conditions. If a Customer upgrades during the Minimum Term in accordance with this clause 4, the term of the new Plan will be the same as the remaining term of the previous Plan (for example, if the Customer subscribes to an 24 month Emirati 150 plan and upgrades with 9 months of the Minimum Term remaining, 9 months of the Minimum Term will remain under the new Plan once upgrade activated).

Downgrades and Early Termination Fees

Customers may only downgrade to a lower value Plan before the expiry of the Minimum Term upon payment of an early termination fee. Please refer to the frequently asked questions relating to the relevant Plan on the du Website (FAQs) for details of the early termination fee applicable to each Plan.

Suspension

If a Customer’s access to services under a Plan is suspended, the Customer will continue to be charged the relevant monthly fees under the terms associated with the relevant Plan and these Terms and Conditions during the suspension period.

Renewal

At the end of the Minimum Term, Customer will be notified by du by SMS that their Plan is due to expire, at which point they will be given an option to renew or cancel – see the “How to get” section of the Plan page on the du Website for details. If the Customer fails to respond to the SMS before the expiry of the Plan then that Customer’s Plan will automatically expire.

Other Terms

The purchase of the Offer is subject to du’s General Terms and Conditions, Specific Terms and Conditions for Mobile Services and terms associated with the relevant Plan (copies of which can be found on the du Website). Where there is any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and those other terms, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail).
