how to use Mobile Broadband?

You can use mobile broadband where there is GPRS, EDGE or 3G network coverage. There are two ways to use mobile broadband:

Using your mobile data card;

Make sure that your laptop/PC is switched on
Attach one end of the USB cable to the USB modem and connect the other end into the USB port on the laptop/PC
The USB modem will install itself automatically
Click on the du logo (Mobile Broadband manager)on your desktop to connect to the internet

Using your 3G mobile phone as a modem

Connect your 3G mobile phone to your laptop via Infrared, Bluetooth، or USB Cable
Dial *99# from your dial-up connection to set up the Mobile Broadband connection
Launch your internet browser and surf!

To use your mobile data card or 3G mobile phone as a modem, you will need to be in a 3G coverage area.
You'll always know when you're in a 3G service area as the 3G indicator will be highlighted on your mobility manager software installed on your laptop or a small 3G symbol will appear on your 3G mobile phone when your phone is switched on.

Configuration settings

(only if you use your 3G mobile phone as a modem with your laptop)

Mobile Phone

Your mobile phone will require the data settings for mobile broadband
These settings will have been installed when you first inserted the du SIM card in your mobile phone
These settings can also be requested by sending an SMS with the word “du” to 333 or by calling Customer Care on 155 from your mobile phone. In this case an SMS with the configuration settings will be sent to you. Please open and save

Laptop

Step 1: Connect your mobile phone to the PC via Infrared or bluetooth or USB cable Step 2: On the PC, go to the Networking section of the Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control panel > Network Connections)

Select “create a new connection"
Choose “connect to the Internet“, click next
Choose “setup my connection manually”, click next
Choose the "connect using dial-up modem" option, click next
In the field “ISP Name” add the word “du mobile broadband”, click next
Enter the telephone number to dial as *99# , click next
Leave the username and password blank, click finish

Step 3: When complete, go to control panel > network connections and right-click on the icon for your “du mobile broadband” connection.

Select “Properties”, in the “General” tab, check your mobile phone modem and click OK

Step 4: Your mobile broadband connection is setup. Anytime you want to connect to the internet you simply click on the “du mobile broadband” icon click “dial”
