Troubleshooting:

Broadband Internet access, often shortened to “Broadband Internet” or just “Broadband” is a high rate data-transmission over an internet connection. Broadband is often called high-speed Internet as it usually has a high rate of data transmission.

Usually the speed of a broadband connection is associated with two figures. The first figure refers to the download speed or the speed at which the user retrieves data from the internet. This applies, for example, whenever a user downloads a file or listens to on-line radio. The second figure refers to the upload speed or the speed at which the user sends data to the internet. This applies, for example, whenever a user sends an e-mail. For the majority of internet users the need for download speed is much higher than for upload. Therefore the download speed is usually much higher, thus optimizing the usage of available bandwidth. As an example, a 2Mbps/256Kbps connection downloads data at a speed of 2Mbps and uploads data at a speed of 256Kbps.

All you need is an Ethernet port connector in your PC. All modern personal computers have this as a standard built-in feature. Other devices, such as game consoles (e.g. Playstation or X-box) may have an Ethernet connector or you may have to purchase it separately. To be sure always check with your retailer at the time of purchase.

Most of the new PCs have Ethernet cards built into them and depending on the Operating System installed on your PC. However, if you are not sure, we recommend that you consult a computer hardware specialist, perhaps in the shop you bought your PC.

Any popular Operating System software like Windows 98, Windows 2000, Win NT, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac O/S etc.

No, you don’t have to subscribe to landline in order to use Broadband services. Our Broadband service is delivered via fiber-to-the-home network which does not require any modem or landline connection.

Yes, you can set up your own wireless connection at home by installing a wireless router which can be bought from most computer or telephony shops.

Yes, one of the main benefits of our service and technology is that it allows you to use the same socket for either Broadband or TV interchangeably. You may also have several sockets activated in your house giving you the freedom to move your services from room to room. Please note that when several sockets are activated, you may notice a slower speed during simultaneous broadband use..

  • Use a firewall

The first and most fundamental step you can take to protect your system is to install a firewall. By having properly configured and updated firewall software operating on your PC, you can stop hackers and other unauthorized system use.

  • Use anti-virus software

Make sure you install appropriate software to protect your PC and then keep it active and up to date.

  • Be wary of e-mail attachments

Many viruses, worms, hoaxes, trojan horses and other forms of malicious software still spread themselves via e-mail, usually as attachments. Unless you trust the sender and you are absolutely sure what is in the attachment, don’t open it.
