Our commitment to our colleagues
National development
We believe in helping our employees to reach their full potential. Our National Development programs allow us to focus on hiring, developing and retaining the best national talents as part of our extensively multi-cultural team, while we also incorporate an Emiratisation objective that offers opportunities to UAE nationals.
It is our belief that job satisfaction and employee engagement is enhanced through career development, and therefore our aim is to offer a variety of training programs and growth opportunities, that will ensure all of our employees reach their highest potential.
Gallup
We’re nothing without our dedicated employees, and so, every 18 months, we call upon the services of Gallup International to conduct an engagement survey at du. Not only does this measure the level of satisfaction amongst our employees, but it goes above and beyond to be able to chart the psychological commitment to our organization, through a well-known, international model of 12 questions – to which we have added our own in order to be sure to capture all aspects of our employees’ satisfaction in the long run.
One thing we’ve learnt is that UAE nationals who held managerial positions had a higher engaged team when compared to others – proof that the effort we’ve invested in developing our local talents’ leadership and management competencies is certainly paying off.
You see, we’re of the opinion that the satisfaction of our employees goes beyond their emotions and commitment, to encompass their feelings towards the organization’s leadership and vision, as well as how their colleagues and the organizational culture support them. There are plenty of factors to affect this on both technical and physiological levels, all of which contribute towards creating job satisfaction, and, as a result, engagement.
We want you to be happy, and we want to be sure we’re doing all we can to ensure your time with us is the best it can be.
Training programs
Becoming part of our team doesn’t mean your educational career has reached its peak – in fact, far from it. We pride ourselves in the fact that we offer our employees training programs to ensure that your personal learning curve is always on the up. How would you like to develop your technical training, product and services skills, or your interpersonal and behavioral proficiencies? That’s just a taster of what’s on offer; we also run corporate initiatives (induction programs, and programs linked to the our brand’s values), as well as baseline training to hone those critical retail and customer care skills.
The knowledge learnt via these programs isn’t limited in anyway by job-related competencies, as our aim is to build life-long capabilities that will enhance your overall soft interpersonal and leadership potential.
In addition to this, our Masar program focuses on developing and enhancing UAE national talents, helping them to grow both personally and professionally.

Great Manager Awards
It feels good to be recognized for your efforts. We all know that, and so we like to make sure that our guys in charge are given the proper dues for their good work. With that in mind, our Great Manager initiative was born, in which we honour the best managers from our company’s three verticals; Technology, Commercial and Support.
This annual event sees accolades granted based on several criteria, that go beyond simply performing well – we want to make sure that our people in charge are doing a good job not only for themselves, but for the teams they work with, too, while demonstrating the brand values that lie in the heart of our company.
The criteria our Great Managers are judged on are as follows:
- Gallup Engagement Scorecard. We take into consideration the direct and rollup team engagement score, which should be within the Top 50 of du’s internal ranks.
- Performance Rating. Not only the manager but their team should have achieved great business performance levels and results, including a performance rating of Very Good or Excellent for the manager.
- Brand Values. Our values are very important to us, and so the manager and their team must have demonstrated these consistently. This is measured by the total number of brand value nominations that have been received by the manager and their team.
Wellbeing
There’s a little saying that we think is far too often overlooked by companies when it comes to their employees: “If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything.” With this in mind, we’ve made a conscious effort to ensure that all employees under our company umbrella are taken care of in every way possible – including their health. Our staff benefit from a range of health-boosting bonuses, from a smoke-free building to our own in-house clinic and more.
We don’t mind boasting that we were the first company in a Dubai Free Zone to introduce an in-house clinic for our staff. Headed up by Dr Mansoor Anwar and his team, the clinic pays regular visits to the various du office locations in order to maintain your well-being. The initial phases of this project include collecting general data about each of our employees, which allows us to provide a committed, holistic care approach for each individual member of staff, based on their risk levels for various health-related issues.
Our clinic license should be issued shortly, at which point we’ll be able to open a fully operational facility that will offer a more comprehensive range of treatments than what is currently on offer.
At du, we care about more than just how much you can give us – we care about how much we can give you.
