Dubai, UAE: du and Microsoft have close collaboration for testing Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and are successfully demonstrating it with Nokia Lumia 830 smartphone at GITEX 2014. 

After comprehensive tests both companies are satisfied with the feature that allows having connection to LTE/4G while having an ongoing voice call. In other words, VoLTE enables simultaneous high speed Internet browsing or video streaming during a live voice call. VoLTE brings also multiple other demonstrated gains i.e – making & receiving calls immediately and providing high definition (HD) voice quality. 

du is not only the first telecom service provider to install and test VoLTE on a live network in the region, but also the world’s fastest – at just 80 days.
